Description
This selection of photographs was taken during my time living in Uruguay. Photography, for me, is a medium for romanticism: it provides a lens through which I study the environments that envelop me with admiration. Photography teaches me just as much about my surroundings themselves as it does about how I truly feel with my feet on the present ground. In Uruguay, my constant yearning to capture each new reflected moment became, for me, a way to visualize my outward expression of love for the country; the coordinates on which I physically stood, and the other humans, organisms, and elements that shared that land with me. Throughout my time capturing images through metal and glass, I found myself drawn to three forms of abstraction: reflections and shadows, youthfulness, and organic connection. This capsule of moments exists within these three compartments, each with its own rendering of articulation. Through these mediums, I present an ode to the stillest of moments, the most fluid of moments, and every moment in between that manifested into my deep infatuation with Uruguay.
